Keroche heiress taken to court for unpaid Sh19m loan

This comes weeks following the revelation of a court case filed by a city shylock from who she is reported to have borrowed Sh19 million on behalf of her friend Ben Kangangi.

In the court documents, the shylock, Dennis Mombo Mwangeka, had accused Anerlisa of giving him bouncing cheques and refusing to pick up his calls.

In her response, Anerlisa however acknowledged borrowing the money on Ben’s behalf and stated that it is Ben who should pay back.

She also disowned Ben who had been mentioned as being her boyfriend back in 2015 during the transaction.

Anerlisa has in the last few weeks deleted the photos of her boyfriend, Don, whom she introduced to the world after a bitter break up with Stephen Kungu.

Former TV presenter Grace Msalame has quietly deleted an Instagram post that appeared to announce her engagement earlier this year.

The picture, which showed a ring on Grace’s hand, was simply captioned: “Here’s hoping you ushered in the new year with those you Love. Happy & Blessed 2018 to you all #LoveFeelslikeHome.”

Her hand was juxtaposed with another in the photo shared on January 1 this year. It has since been removed.

Back then, the post had elicited a flurry of congratulatory messages from her followers, who assumed she got engaged.

Many blogs also reported that her wedding was in the offing. She did not refute any of them.

Msalame’s love life is not new to the public following her break up a few years ago with her former lover Paul Ndichu, with whom she has twin daughters.

While Ndichu eventually found new love – Evaline Momanyi – to whom he got married early last year, Grace has remained single.

During Ndichu’s wedding, Grace won praise for not only allowing her twins to be among the flower girls, but also for wishing her ex-husband and his new wife a happy life together.

He once did the unthinkable and took the seat of President Uhuru Kenyatta while performing during an event broadcast live on TV, but gospel artiste Bahati now says he is no longer granted as much access during such events.

Apparently, the singer has lately been subjected to strict protocol whenever he performs at events attended by the president and his deputy.

Interestingly, Bahati, who recently became a father, made the revelation while performing at a public event in Kirinyanga County graced by among others Deputy President William Ruto and Governor Anne Waiguru.

“I’m still excited to sing in your presence and see you getting excited Bwana Deputy President,” he said amid laughter and ululations from the crowd.

Did Timmy Tdat ‘mishandle’ this female fan on stage? Be the judge – VIDEO

A Twitter rant by renowned PR personality Anyiko Owoko over Kenyan rapper Timmy Tdat’s ‘mishandling’ of a female fan who threw herself at him on stage has divided opinion on social media.

The incident happened at the weekend during Nigerian artiste Mr Eazi’s concert at Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

A video uploaded in Twitter by a certain @droid254, begins by showing the female fan gyrating her booty on Timmy’s groins in a seductive dance to the artiste’s club banger Wembe, which is heard playing in the background.

The female fan then turns around and jumps on the laps of the artiste who carries over to the edge of the stage and lays her on top of the sound system and embarks on his raunchy dance routine.

At some point Timmy appears flips over the lady’s high slit dress to the flashing camera lights and mobile phones held high by ringside fans.

This is what seems to have so vexed Anyiko who took to Twitter to voice her disapproval of Timmy’s apparent ‘mishandling’ of the female fan.

“I am tired of male artistes mishandling women on stage and what @timmytdat has done at his performance at Mr. Eazi’s Concert is unacceptable!,” she ranted.

Anyiko, who is a former media publicist for multiple award-winning boy band Sauti Sol, further faulted Timmy for “pulling up the female fan’s dress to show her full butt and panties.”

However, on Twitter many tweeps were of the view that the female fan appeared to be a willing partaker of Timmy’s ratchet and sexually explicit performance.

Citizen TV news anchor Lillian Muli is under fire from Kenyans on Twitter after asking a rape survivor whether she may have invited the ordeal on herself.

The news anchor was interviewing rape survivor Irene Karimi on her ordeal in February 2015 when a gang of thieves robbed and raped her in Kibera.

Muli shocked her viewers by asking ” “Could you have said something, could you have done something? Were you dressed in a certain way?”

TOE CURLING

The question came just after Ms Karimi had revealed toe-curling details of how the gang of 10 thieves broke into her house at night, stole from her before three of them proceeded to rape her.

Responding to the question, Ms Karimi schooled Muli that when a woman is raped it is not because she provoked her attacker.

She went ahead to describe her dressing style during the incident as decent.

“Certainly I’m a church girl, I’m a minister in my local church and I don’t dress indecently and didn’t offend anyone in my community. They came and started asking why I was beautiful na sina mshikaji, they started asking if I was HIV + they started physically abusing me,” said Karimi.

Muli’s interview has been widely criticised online, with users pointing out that it was an irresponsible line of questioning.

Socialite Vera Sidika elated a section of her fans over the week by showing off a baby bump and posting ultra sound photos of her ‘pregnancy’.

In a series of posts, the socialite claimed that keeping the pregnancy under wraps was proving difficult and felt compelled to be the first to share the news to her fans.

“My doctor makes house calls because walking into a hospital without being recognized would have been impossible. Keeping up with social media has become a myth because my growing tummy will be a topic so I had to stay off Snapchat, post old photos on IG, to avoid suspicions. I always wanted to have a baby before I hit 30. I’m turning 29 this September and this was the perfect timing. I’m very grateful and the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. But kept it lowkey cause I wanted a stress free journey,”

Yesterday, I got a call from a media house informing me that they received an anonymous tip, that I was pregnant and asking me to confirm or deny. I refused to comment and they told me that they'll publish the story in the coming week. I knew they would publish the rumours with or without my confirmation and realized that I can't hide for too long. I honestly thought I possibly could but it's hell. Your movements are limited and very difficult especially being a public figure. My doctor makes house calls cause walking into a hospital without being recognized would have been impossible 😩 keeping up with social media has become a myth because my growing tummy will be a topic 😩 so I had to stay off Snapchat, post old photos on IG, To avoid suspicions. I always wanted to have a baby before I hit 30. I'm turning 29 this September and this was the perfect timing. I'm very grateful and the happiest I've ever been in my life. But kept it lowkey cause I wanted a stress free journey. Away from paparazzi and nosey people. But we can't control the media. Somehow they always get to find out and beat us on our own game. So just before you read it from the blogs, this is me confirming, I am pregnant and just can't wait to have my bundle of joy. I feel so blessed 🙏🤰 Cant wait for my gender reveal/announcement party 🎉😁 P.S; I'll share videos of my journey so far. This coming week.

“Good morning sweethearts. I would love to take this opportunity to let y’all that still don’t know, know that the ultrasound I posted on April fools was as fake as my silicone. But then again, I am so overwhelmed by the heart felt messages y’all sent. It was surreal!”

Vera has lately  not beensharing the going ons of her private life, only posting promotional adverts for her slimming tea “Veetox” business.

“I have been MIA because I’m working on a huge project set to launch soon. On the other hand, I debuted my YouTube channel on Friday. I will create content & share ideas on a lot of topics, so you should definitely subscribe! Cause I’d be doing less of Snapchat & insta stories,” she explained.

Coming soon: New law against social media thugs

$

FROM LEFT: Shaffie Weru, Huddah Monroe and celebrity deejay Pierra Makena.

They say lightning does not strike twice, but for celebrity deejay Pierra Makena, the intrusive wave of identity theft on social media platforms has left her feeling helpless, twice.

In January Ms Makena’s Instagram account was taken over by “some Tanzanian guy” who uses it to spread false information about the celebrity

“I had to hire a cyber security firm to get it back, but it was re-hacked after only a week. This guy really seems to like my account,” Ms Makena said on Wednesday.

FAMOUS KENYANS

She is among famous Kenyans, including socialites Vera Sidika and Huddah Monroe and journalists Shaffie Weru and Mark Masai, who have had their social media accounts stolen or reproduced by people seeking to ride on their fame for commercial and other reasons.

In the age of social media, famous people can make a living as influencers for various products and companies because of their huge following on social media, and such parallel accounts make it difficult for them to get jobs. Their plea? Do something.

“I would like the government to put in place systems to make it harder for these people (hackers) to do this. I believe prevention is better than cure, so they should look for ways to control these people,” DJ Makena told the Nation.

And Parliament appears to have heard her cry, and those of many other Kenyans, famous or not, who have fallen victim of cybercriminals.

The Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation has proposed that riding on other people’s identities on the Internet and sharing obscene material on such social media applications as WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram, be criminalised and those found guilty of the offence fined up to Sh3 million or three years in jail.

SENT TO JAIL

The committee further wants any person who intentionally makes use of a person’s name, business name, trademark, or domain name used by any other person on the Internet without authority fined Sh2 million or sent to jail for two years.

The proposals are contained in the report of the committee on the Computer and Cybercrime Bill, 2017, which is currently being debated in Parliament.

The Bill, sponsored by the Leader of Majority Aden Duale, also seeks timely and effective detection, investigation and prosecution of computer and cybercrimes.

The proposal on the sharing of intimate pictures comes in the thick of a storm created by MPs who recently complained of being cyber-bullied and getting unsolicited nude pictures to their mobile phones.

But, away from the MPs, Mr Weru, the journalist, was the subject of blackmail last year when a hacker got the login credentials for two of his social media accounts as well as his e-mail. He was told to give the hacker Sh30,000 for each login or else have all his information plastered on the Internet.

Other celebrities have had their photos and names used in fake social media accounts used to con people, especially those looking for jobs.

Television journalist Mark Masai in February complained on his official Facebook page of a person using a name similar to his and posing as him on social media.

FAKE ACCOUNT

“This Mark Masai Nassau is a fake account and I have nothing to do with it. I am rarely on Facebook and someone just brought it to my attention,” Mr Masai posted on his page. The fake page has over 13,000 followers and uses his photographs.

During the debate in Parliament yesterday, Mr Duale and Minority Whip Junet Mohammed told the House of how a woman they did not name has made MPs afraid of using their phones while with their colleagues or family members as she has been sending them her nude photos.

“I have been afflicted,” Mr Mohammed said. “I even have the pictures in my phone…. We have been bullied, seduced and the careers of some politicians have ended due to cyberbullying.”

Two weeks ago Mr Wazir Boniface Chacha was charged on crimes related to cyberbullying and trying to extort money from members of Parliament. He is accused of soliciting money from MPs disguised as Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege.

And in May last year, a middle-aged woman committed suicide in Nairobi after she was bullied online by members of a Facebook group after posting about the defilement of her three-year-old daughter.

Recently, Kaittany did a media interview in which she confirmed that she was and still is the sole owner of Posh Palace.
